Embracing Transformation: Reflecting on the Remarkable Journey of 2023

As I bid farewell to 2023, it's impossible not to marvel at the profound transformations that defined this year. 

A change of mindset

A change of career

A change of continents

The year didn’t necessarily kick off with a conscious decision to reevaluate and realign our perspectives. We began the year with no major expectations of change.

In fact, 2023 was meant to be just another year of exploration, all while based in California. We traveled to some of the most magnificent places you could possibly imagine -- the best BBQ joints in Austin, TX, the snow covered mountain in Idyllwild, CA, the otherworldly landscapes of Iceland, the beautifully rustic Vallee de Guadalupe wine region in Baja California, Mexico, and the National Parks of Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. 

The decision to leave behind the familiar and embrace the unknown was not taken lightly. We sold our house, bid adieu to our cars, and pared down our possessions, opting for a life condensed into suitcases (mostly). The journey across continents was not just a physical move; it was a symbolic leap into a world of new possibilities.

And yet, amid the change, a profound realization dawned upon me – so much has remained the same. Our core values, the essence of who we are, and the relationships that form the backbone of our lives remain constant. These constants provide us with stability and ground us in a familiarity.

As we step into the dawn of a new year, the echoes of 2023 linger, a testament to the power of embracing change and the beauty of continuity.
